Teachers of Peace

Educating for Peace and Social Change

The Teachers of Peace seminar was developed by the William Penn House in collaboration with middle school and high-school teachers.

In a supportive Quaker community, participants explore peacemaking through the lens of Multi-Track Diplomacy - a holistic framework for both understanding and teaching peace. Their imaginations are fed in sessions featuring peacemakers from a variety of "tracks," and they begin envisioning and creating their own units, lessons and courses for teaching peace and social change.

If you or someone you know is interested in gaining a new perspective on teaching peace and social change, building a network of supportive colleagues, and experiencing sample peace and social change curricula, please complete the application.

We ask for a contribution of $50 to $250 per person to help cover program costs, lodging, meals, and materials. Participation (20 contact hours) will count toward continuing education requirements for license renewal in most school systems. For more information or to receive a MSWord version of the application, please call Brad Ogilvie at 202-543-5560, or email him at Brad@williampennhouse.org.
