Union Station, at 1st Street and Massachusetts Avenue, is the AMTRAK Station for Washington. The MARC trains, a commuter service which operates Monday-Friday only, operates to points in Maryland including Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI). This service also departs from Union Station.
From Union Station, one may either walk or (1) take Metro Bus #96/97 which departs from across Massachusetts Avenue. Both of these buses stop at the corner of East Capitol and 6th Street, virtually at our door. (2) Walk out the front door, go south on Delaware Street past the Senate Office building, cross Constitution Street. Walk onto the Capitol Plaza, at the Dome, turn left, cross 1st Street (The Supreme Court will be on your left and the Library of Congress will be on your right).
Follow East Capitol Street 5 blocks to 515 East Capitol Street SE.
The Red Line Metro station is in the basement of Union Station as well as a "Food Mall" which is highly recommended for it's vast variety of ethnic food.
Cabs are also available from the front of Union Station. Cab fares work on a regulated pricing schedule. Fares increase with extra baggage, more than one person, and rush-hour.
